Kelvin Garcia is a dedicated public servant and member of the Herndon Town Council. His career has been shaped by a commitment to fairness, accountability, public safety, and meaningful community engagement. Through his work in government, law, public safety, and youth mentorship, Kelvin has remained focused on serving others and helping build a stronger, more inclusive community.

YOUTH ADVISORY & COMMUNITY ROOTS
Kelvin holds a Juris Doctor from the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law, a Master of Public Administration from Virginia Tech, and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Roger Williams University.
His professional background includes service as a Metropolitan Police Department officer and as a Traffic Judge in Washington, D.C. These experiences gave Kelvin firsthand knowledge of public safety, the legal system, responsible decision-making, and the importance of treating every person with fairness and respect.
Investing in the Next Generation
Kelvin’s commitment to service extends beyond Town Hall. As a girls’ basketball coach at South Lakes High School, he invests his time in helping young people develop confidence, discipline, teamwork, and leadership.
Kelvin also founded a Youth Advisory Committee to encourage young residents to become more involved in their community and ensure that their perspectives are heard. His approach to leadership reflects a simple belief: building a stronger future begins by listening to and investing in the next generation.
Fluent in Spanish, Kelvin is committed to making local government more welcoming, accessible, and responsive to Herndon’s diverse community. He believes effective leadership requires being present, listening to residents, and ensuring that people from every background have an opportunity to participate in shaping Herndon’s future.
